A Garden Activity supporting Communities in South Australia and Victoria

Energy Education Australia Inc in conjunction with several other Australian organisations are working together to assist Habitat for Humanity and others in establishing new homes in Murray Bridge/Mannum region and Smithfield Plains - South Australia and Shepparton/Yea regions - Victoria.

The homes are being built by volunteers. Energy Education Australia invites schools/youth groups or individuals to work with them to create a sustainable landscape and garden design that complements the new homes.

If you choose to enter a team in this competition you will be paired with members from the Landscape Association of South Australia. Your mentor will assist you when ever you request assistance.

Organisations and people supporting this competition are:

  • Habitat for Humanity - Ben Sarre
  • Sustainable Landscape Project (a section of the Adelaide Botanic Garden) - Merilyn Kuchel
  • Nursery and Garden Industry of SA - Geoffrey Fuller
  • ABC Gardening Australia presenter and Sunday Mail Columnist - Sophie Thomson
  • Landscape Association of South Australia - Kym Pedler and Alison Annells
  • State Flora (South Australia) - Phil Collins

Before working outside, you are encouraged to view the Australian Government's UV and Sun Protection webpage to ensure you comply with your WH&S. If you wish, there are Sun Smart App's that can be downloaded for both iPhone and Android.
